The Town of Waldoboro is accepting applications for the position of part-time police officer. Waldoboro is located on the mid-coast with a population of approximately 5,000 and an existing 9-member police department.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, good mental and physical condition, a clean motor vehicle history, and no criminal history. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older. Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates are encouraged to apply. Successful completion of the 100-hour course preferred.
Applicants are required to pass the ALERT test. Select candidates will also be required to pass oral examination, fitness test, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and background investigation. The successful candidate must also pass a medical examination.

The Town of Waldoboro is currently recruiting Fire Fighters and those who would like to become Fire Fighters.
Waldoboro Firemen are responsible for maintenance of the fire station, equipment, and apparatus. They respond to emergencies and administer basic life support when necessary. The ideal candidate would want to take an active role in training, fire prevention and public education. Monthly training is provided.
