FaucetNOTICE OF MEETING TO AUTHORIZE BORROWING UP TO $1,084,653.30 TO REFINANCE AN OUTSTANDING BOND AS APPROVED BY NOVEMBER 2011 TOWN MEETING

The Selectmen of the Town of Waldoboro will hold a meeting open to the public on March 27, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Waldoboro Town office located on 1600 Atlantic Hwy., in Waldoboro, Maine to consider the authorization for the issuance of bonds of the Town in the principal amount not to exceed $1,084,653.30 as approved by the Waldoboro Town Meeting in November, 2011, all to refund a November 12, 2003 Bond issued to the United States of America to finance the costs of acquiring assets of the Waldoboro Water Company and financing improvements and upgrades to the water system in the Town including, but not limited to developing a new water source, constructing new pumping stations, water mains and storage facilities to comply with the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act (the “Project”). The purpose of the refunding is to refinance existing debt to save money based on lower current interest rates. The public is invited to attend. Written comments received before the meeting will be considered.
