2012 Waldoboro Youth Soccer Program

Volunteer coaches needed at all levels!

Registration fee: $25.00, non-residents add $10.00 (waived for coaches)

Although this program is sponsored by the Waldoboro Recreation Department, participation is open to all area youth including non-residents. Our program is based on a developmental sports philosophy; concentrating more on learning and less on winning. Our hope is to create a positive environment for our children to learn the game of soccer and spend quality time with friends and family. To make this season a success we are relying on the continued support of volunteers to coach, referee, conduct fundraising and set-up/clean-up the fields.

MICRO DIVISION

  • Grades: K through 2 (co-ed)
  • Coaches on field /refereeing
  • 1/4 regulation field
  • Four 10 minute quarters
  • Six vs. six
  • Subs halfway through each quarter
  • No goalies
  • Re-throws are permitted
  • Ball size 4
  • Equal playing time 

Program runs Saturdays from Sep 10 to Oct 22. Skills session 9:00-9:30 Games 9:30-10:30

PEEWEE DIVISION

  • Grades: 3 and 4 (co-ed)
  • Coaches on field during games
  • High school/volunteer referees
  • 1/2 regulation field
  • Four 10 minute quarters
  • Substitutions at quarters (or as needed)
  • Nine vs. Nine
  • Ball size 4
  • Equal playing time 

Games on weeknights or Saturdays beginning Sept 10th

JUNIOR DIVISION

  • Grades: 5 and 6
  • Coaches on sidelines
  • High school/volunteer referees
  • Full field (50-80 yds)
  • Four 15 minute quarters
  • Substitutions on the fly
  • 11 vs. 11
  • Ball size 5
  • Teams play in Mid-Coast Travel League
  • Girls & Boys play separately 

Games on weeknights or Saturdays beginning Sept 10th.

Important Dates/Events

Sat Sept 01, 2012 Soccer Clinic at Medomak Valley High School with MVHS Coaching staff
Sat Sept 8, 2012 – First regular day of program for MICRO’s (9am-10:30am)
Sat Sept 15, 2012 – Games begin for JUNIOR & PEEWEE Division (Travel)
Sat Oct 20, 2012 – Last day of program for MICRO’s and PEEWEE’s. Playoffs for JUNIOR’s

Important Information

Soccer cleats: Recommended for PEEWEEs and JUNIORs.
Shin guards: Required for all divisions.
Mouth guards: Highly recommended for MICROs Required for JUNIORs and PEEWEEs.
Water bottle: Highly recommended for all players at games and practices.
Jewelry: No jewelry of any kind shall be worn during practice or game situations. This includes new piercings. If for any reason jewelry can not be taken off, that child will not be allowed to play that game or practice. Uniform: Colored T-shirts (to keep) will be provided to MICROs and PEEWEEs. Numbered/colored T-shirt uniform tops (to keep) will be provided to JUNIORS.
