Waldoboro Community Project

The athletic fields at the Recreation Complex are a huge success!!

This year’s projects include:

  • Installing scoreboards at Sukeforth & Begley Fields.
  • Building a Concession Stand at Sukeforth Field. Volunteers are needed for construction and electrical work.

If you can help with any of these items, please contact Kyle Santheson, Recreation Director, Town of Waldoboro at 832-5369 or consider a donation to the Medomak Valley Community Foundation to benefit the Waldoboro Community Project. Funtown/Splashtown and Water Country Discount Tickets

Discount tickets to Funtown/Splashtown USA (Saco, ME) and Water Country (Portsmouth, NH) will be available at the Waldoboro Recreation Department beginning May 1st. Funtown/Splashtown combo passes for those 48" inches and taller are available for $27.00 each and Water Country passes for those over 48" inches tall are available for $30.00 each. All tickets sales are final. There is no limit on quantity purchased. There are no refunds or exchanges. Tickets must be purchased via check or cash at the Recreation Department office located at the Waldoboro Town Office. (No credit or debit cards). Discount tickets for the 2012 season are good June 16th through September 3rd.

Portland Sea Dogs Discount Tickets

The Recreation Department has partnered with the Maine Recreation & Parks Association and the Portland Sea Dogs to offer a Discount Flex ticket program. Family Packs are available for purchase at the Waldoboro Town Office can be turned in at the Sea Dogs ticket office for general admission tickets to any game with the exception of July 3rd.

  • 4 Pack - $22.00 ($6 savings on adult tickets)
  • 5 Pack - $27.00 ($8 savings on adult tickets)

Audrey Bechler Selected as Waldoboro Day Parade Grand Marshal

The annual Waldoboro Day celebration has been scheduled for June 16, 2012!

The Waldoboro Day Committee has had its first meeting to set the date, to choose the theme and to pick our Grand Marshal. We have selected Audrey Bechler as the Grand Marshal this year to honor her lifetime as an artist and pay tribute to her late husband Charlie, who was an accomplished jazz musician. We have an abundant resource of artists, musicians, sculptors, weavers, welders and unique crafters throughout our community. Paint the Town - Waldoboro, Maine

Join artists in Waldoboro to create original works inspired by our beautiful town. Or, be a part of this artistic event at the Paint the Town Artist’s Reception and Live Auction.

A portion of the auction proceeds benefit the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, the Medomak Valley Land Trust, the Waldoboro Library and the Waldoboro Lions Club.

Auction Preview & Reception, is at the VFW Hall, 50 Mill Street, Waldoboro, and begins at 5:30 p.m., the live auction of the day’s work and more starts at approximately 6:30p.m.

Medomak River Festival

Labor Day Weekend 2012

Waldoboro Ice Skating

Volunteers Needed for the Waldoboro Ice Skating Area

Through a generous donation, a public Ice Skating area will be developed this year and will be ready to go come winter. The Recreation Department has identified several promising areas, but is looking for volunteers that would be willing to assist in developing the final plans for installation of the skating area and to assist in its operation.
