The Code Enforcement Office is responsible for administering and enforcing the Town's land use ordinance as well as federal and state regulations that govern land use. The department also ensures compliance with these rules and regulations by reviewing plans prior to construction and conducting inspections of the projects.

The Code Enforcement Office issues all permits associated with projects, including building, plumbing, sign and land use permits. The department also is responsible for providing research and technical and staff support to the Planning Board and Board of Appeals.
