YMCA Submits Letter of Intent to Establish Branch at AD Gray

On Tuesday April 10, 2012, Craig Wilson, Executive Director of the Central Lincoln County YMCA presented a letter to the Board of Selectmen expressing interest in establishing a local branch at the old AD Gray school building.

Click here to read the letter.

The Selectmen accepted the YMCA letter unanimously voting to support the concept of redeveloping the AD Gray building for use as a Y. The Town Manager will begin the work of putting together an agreement with the YMCA. Many details will need to be worked out, including finding out if the Anne Gay Bailey Charitable Fund Trust can be used for the project.

Over the coming months a plan between the Town and the YMCA will be prepared for the consideration of the voters. It is anticipated that this vote could be held at the November 2012 election.

The prospect of having a local YMCA at the AD Gray Building is an exciting opportunity which offers many benefits to the entire community.
