The primary function of the Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of the people of
Waldoboro through appropriate fire suppression and training and to educate the citizens in fire
prevention. Fire fighting services are provided by a 26 member department answering alarms on a 24
hour per day basis. The department is a member of the Knox County Mutual Aid Association and the
Lincoln County Fire Chief's Association , providing service to member towns, and receiving
assistance when needed from member towns.
